Zero Suicide

The Zero Suicide approach aims to improve care and outcomes for individuals at risk of suicide in health care systems. The bold goal of zero suicides among persons receiving care is an aspirational challenge that health systems should accept. The Zero Suicide initiative is a priority of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention. It emphasizes the need to transform health care for those at risk for suicide through a focus on safety and error reduction as well as through the use of best practices in suicide care by health systems and providers.
By using the Zero Suicide Toolkit health care systems are provided a practical guide to systemic change.
Learn about each of the seven elements of Zero Suicide in-depth as you dive into the Zero Suicide Toolkit. Each section of the Toolkit presents the research behind one of the elements and describes how to implement that element with fidelity.
